Pen and Ink Cat Portraits

This is my third picture drawn with the Micron pen. It's made on 9x12 inch paper for acrylic paint. I'm really liking the Micron pen, the ink starts flowing right away, unlike technical pens which tend to clog and need cleaning. Many times I have to tap my tech pen endless amounts of times to get it to work, so this Micron pen is a refreshing change. But maybe it's too soon to tell, after all this cat portrait is only my third picture.

If the Micron continues to work this well and lets me make many more pictures before the ink runs dry I thinks I'm going to switch from the technical pen as my main tool for pen and ink art.

The toucan is found in the tropical forests of Central and South America as well as the Caribbean. Its most striking feature is the large beak. There are over 40 different species of toucans, the largest being the Toco toucan, identified by its orange and black bill. The species featured on this sticker is the Keel-Billed toucan, it has the most colorful bill in the toucan family. The Keel-Billed toucan makes its home in the holes of trees in the South American jungle.

Koala Bear Art

Ever since I watched a tv documentary on koalas, koalas have been floating around in my head. But hey, I don't mind, they are soooo cute! This is a 7x5 inch canvas board acrylic painting of a male koala that seems to be just posing to have his portrait painted.

Here is my second pen and ink drawing made with a Micron pen, nib size 01. The koala picture was drawn on watercolor paper. I'm curious to see how many pictures I can make with the Micron before the ink runs dry and I need to replace it since these pens are not refillable. So don't be surprised if you will see more posts with pen and ink art.
