Small Landscape Art

While I was trying to come up with a solution to a problem I was having on one of my landscape paintings, a completely new composition developed which was the basis for my next painting, this small 7 x 5 inch acrylic on canvas board.

Emperor Penguin Painting

Here is my first animal painting done in acrylic, it's made on 8x10 inch stretched canvas. It was tougher to do than the landscapes I've been painting up to now. I wasn't sure whether I should first paint the background in completely and then paint the penguins over it or if I should paint the background around them. I decided to outline the penguins in pencil on the canvas and then I went ahead and painted the background overlapping the pencil outline. It worked okay, I think I need more practice though, but overall I'm happy with the painting.

Painting With Acrylics

Another one of my landscapes done with acrylics painted on 7x5 inch canvas board. I find that working with acrylics I use a lot of white (almost done with the white tube), I don't know whether that's just me or in fact a lot of white is used when painting with acrylics. Anyway I like working with acrylics and am looking forward to making more paintings.
